Global Innovation Field Trip (GIFT)
The Global Innovation Field Trip (GIFT) is the 24-hour, quarterly, multi-country, online celebration of young innovators and programs who support and inspire innovation. Launched spring of 2020, at the onset of the pandemic in the United States, as a way to acknowledge the hard work of young innovators, the event quickly grew in popularity as it drew attention from around the globe. GIFT hosts 10 and 20 minute presentations over the course of the 24 hour event, recorded via Zoom, live-streamed over YouTube and post- event recordings all individually catalogued on the GIFT website for ongoing reference (https://innovationworld.org/gift-home/presenters/).
By spring of 2021, additions to the program included Professional Development, Competition Kickoffs/Finales, Award Ceremonies, Teen Discussion Panels and Student Co-Hosts. In the first 21 months GIFT has been the host platform for more than 570 innovative presentations from, 852 presenters, from 49 countries. The program now welcomes 20+ international guest co-hosts to each event. “Our goal, “said Juli Shively, Co-Founder of GIFT, “is to continue to collaborate with youth and innovation organizations worldwide, making this program available to student innovators in even the hardest to reach locations around the world.”
