Sandy Cleary is a rocket-scientist-turned-entrepreneur that turned her passion for cruising into a $135+ million-dollar business that she built from the ground up and later sold to a $24 billion-dollar travel powerhouse. Sandy has always had a passion for marketing, and she believes that forging strong partnerships is critical to the success of any business. While at CruCon Cruise Outlet, Sandy pioneered a first-of-its-kind partnership between a travel agency and TV retailer, HSN, to showcase cruising to HSN’s audience of 90 million consumers.
In 2017, Sandy founded SLC Group Holdings with the charter to partner with entrepreneurs and businesses needing funds to grow their companies to propel them faster on the road to success. She partnered with HSN as a featured speaker at HSN’s American Dreams Academy and shared her journey from the basement to the boardroom. She then sat on the pitch panel as an angel investor for the event alongside HSN and QVC, and she has now invested in several of the entrepreneurs she met through the Academy.
Partnering for a good cause is also important to Sandy. In 2017 alone, she donated more than $1.3 million to charitable organizations with a focus on those that support youth and families of New Hampshire. Sandy has won several awards including Business Leader of the Year in 2018 from Business NH Magazine, the CLIA Hall of Fame Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Cruise Industry, and the Women of Achievement Award from Girls, Inc. and has made several TV appearances including HSN, WMUR-TV and the Pickler & Ben Show.
When she’s not helping entrepreneurs through investments, you can find Sandy snuggling with her Maltese puppies, visiting her favorite slot machine in Vegas, advocating for charities that support children and animals, or sharing her inspirational story at various speaking engagements across the U.S.
